Sobotec Inks Deal to Sell accel-E Steel Thermal Efficient Panel Systems of SYNTHEON

Canada-based Sobotec has inked a distribution deal to supply and deploy SYNTHEON’s accel-E Steel Thermal Efficient Panel (STEP) system across eastern Canada, including the Maritime Provinces, Quebec and Ontario.

accel-E STEP system

Sobotec manufactures aluminum panel systems for exterior cladding applications on commercial structures. The company produces 2 million sq ft of aluminum panel systems on an average per year. It fabricates most of its wall panels using Alucobond, an aluminum composite material.

The accel-E STEP panels are produced utilizing a proprietary technique that fuses continuous rigid expandable polystyrene foam insulation with cold-formed steel framing. This technique removes air gaps, prevents air intrusion and decreases heat transference and thermal bridging, which in turn reduces the energy needed to cool and heat the building considerably. The panels also enhance the construction process by coupling insulation and framing into one pre-engineered system.

The accel-E system meets the specifications of both the 2006 International Residential Code and the 2006 International Building Code. Its U-Factor and R-Value surpasses the specifications of IECC 2009 Energy Code and ASHRAE 90.1 2007 for insulation in steel stud wall structures for all types of weather.

According to President at SYNTHEON, Antonio Torres, the company will expand its reach in the Canadian commercial building industry through the partnership with Sobotec. Vladimir Sobot, who serves as President at Sobotec, commented that the distribution deal with SYNTHEON allows the company to market a complete exterior wall system that features both insulation and structural components for the first time. The company can also install the accel-E STEP panels on structures where design demands for exterior finishes such as stucco, brick and more, he added.
