Abakan, declared that its auxiliary, MesoCoat has firmed up an accord to shift into a facility measuring 10,000 sq ft in Eastlake, Ohio.
The new facility is planned to have two of its metal fusion cladding production lines for thermal spray coating cells and CermaClad for PComP and a lab for performing metallurgical and analytical functions.
MesoCoat, presently functions from two production facilities in Ohio and its third 11,000 sq ft facility currently under construction is anticipated to commence its production in 2012 January. The new facility at Eastlake is the fourth facility for the company in Ohio, located within a 5 mile distance. The new facility will be basically utilized for cladding components and plates that are utilized in shipbuilding, mining, oil and gas industries and it will also have a thermal spray coating facility to meet the requirements of the mining and oil and gas industries in the USA.
The company is planning to erect a 600 kW fusion cladding arc lamp structure, the most powerful arc lamps ever produced at the new facility. The company has acquired the arc lamp under a cooperative development accord it entered with a global heavy equipment producer. The company has plans to utilize the lamp to develop a cladding that resists wear and tear and corrosion for use with the components and equipment produced by them.
