Verizon Wireless Announces Opening of its Application Innovation Center

Verizon Wireless, a partnership venture of Verizon Communications and Vodafone, which operates 3G and 4G networks has officially opened its new Application Innovation Center (AIC) in San Francisco.

The center is situated next to Silicon Valley and close to a growing group of developers in the city. The Application Innovation Center situated on Spear Street has completed construction early this summer.

The new facility will include office space for its engineers and developer relation team members, an area earmarked for conducting seminars and demonstrations, a private lab space and lab surroundings for collaborative activities.

The new AIC will enable both small and large developers to optimize and spruce their ideas into workable applications to benefit wireless clients. The developers will work along with team experts of Verizon and will utilize the equipment and services of Verizon in their development. The AIC will provide assistance to the developers in formulating network performance and business development applications, network application programming interfaces (API), web services development and other application developments by networking with the experts of Verizon in a single location.

The announcement about the AIC was made in 2009 during the Verizon Developer Community (VDC) Conference and the new facility will be linked to Verizon LTE Innovation Center, in Waltham, Mass, that was opened recently. The linking will improve the working of both the facilities.
