The Highways Agency has entered into a contract with Jacobs Engineering Group. Jacobs Engineering is a provider of professional, technical and construction services.
According to the terms of the $40 million worth contract, Jacobs Engineering will provide the Project Support Services Framework of the Highways Agency with integrated highway technology, engineering design services along with traffic modelling services. This is part of the Highways Agency's project delivery program with a time frame of four years.
The Vice President of Jacobs Group, Bob Duff expressed his delight by stating that the agency will deliver quality services.
An executive agency for the United Kingdom’s Department of Transport, the Highways Agency is responsible for the development, management and operation of England’s strategic network of roads. The network of roadways valued at approximately $136 billion, includes major ‘A’ roads and majority of the motorways. The strategic road network is designed to carry one-third of England’s road traffic and two-thirds of the road freight traffic.
