J.D. Power and Associates has declared the release of its latest report titled, ‘Energy Efficiency Elevates Customer Satisfaction with Windows and Patio Doors,’ for the year 2011.
The satisfaction study is completed by using the answers of over 2,600 customers who bought new patio doors or windows in the past 12 months. The study was conducted in March and April 2011.
The study being conducted for the fifth year in row has measured the atonement level among the clients by utilizing six performance factors listed in the order of importance such as order and deliverance, functional performance, robustness of the product, cost of the product, external looks and design features, warranty clauses and execution of repair and replacement. It also collected details on the mode of installations such as whether offered by the product manufacturer, utilized the services recommended by the vendor, hired an outside source such as a remodeler, handyman or contractor, took the help of friends or neighbors or completed the installation by themselves.
The report finds that there is an increase in the complaints related to tightness of windows and patio doors due to the weather, around 95% of the clients bought energy star qualified products. They also found that energy efficient window and patio door products also improved the satisfaction level in the mindset of the clients.
It found that total satisfaction with patio doors and windows averaged 786 on a 1000 point scale in 2011. It also found that some of the energy efficient window types such as dual-pane glass, low emissivity glass, glass-filled panels and triple-pane glass have offered an increased level of satisfaction among the clients.
