Foster Wheeler, a worldwide power equipment supplier and engineering and construction contractor, declared that Foster Wheeler SOFCON, an unincorporated syndicate between the auxiliary of Engineering and Construction Group of Foster Wheeler and A. Al-Saihati, A. Fattani & O. Al-Othman Consulting Engineering, has been granted a contract by the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco).
The accord will require Foster Wheeler SOFCON to offer project management services and front-end engineering design (FEED) at the Saudi Arabia located Riyadh Refinery for a Clean Transportation Fuels Project.
The project is aimed to cut down the sulfur content in diesel and gasoline products manufacture by the refinery to the level of 10 parts per million and bring down the level of benzene in gasoline.
The front-end engineering design work of the company includes providing designs for the sulfur guard-bed, naphtha splitting and isomerization units and adding of a new diesel hydrotreater reactor in its present units. The scope of FEED also includes substituting of crude and vacuum distillation tower interiors and debottle-necking of the gas concentration and hydrocracker units.
The other new services that come within the scope of the accord include process interface building and workshop, substation, condensate system, instrument air compressor, new pipe rack and two new tanks. The company will also be involved in upgrading the existing laboratory facilities and the main control and monitoring systems.
