Veolia Energy North America, developer and operator of energy efficient solutions, declared that its advisory services and energy management subsidiary, SourceOne, has achieved an important landmark for its project with the Vineland, New Jersey-based Vineland Municipal Electric Utility (VMEU).
VMEU, which has been producing and supplying power to the city since 1899, planned for a new power generation plant to meet the growing power requirements in the year 2008. The new project will enable the company to address the capacity needs of Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania and to substitute its coal power generation facility with a better efficient plant.
In view of successful collaboration with SourceOne, VMEU has begun the construction of a 64 MW Simple Cycle Power Plant (SCPP) at the Howard M. Down Power Plant.
SourceOne has supervised the required design process, participated in site evaluation and engineering and assisted in receiving the necessary ecological, local, state and federal permissions required for the project. It will continue to offer technical support during the construction phase of the project.
