Universal Steel Buildings to Supply Pre-Engineered Steel Hangers for FirstAIR Group

Universal Steel Buildings declared that it has entered into a design, engineer and supply deal with a New York-based firm, FirstAIR Group, to provide three pre-engineered steel buildings.

Universal Steel Buildings, after completing the concrete base work, will construct the pre-fabricated Olympia steel buildings for the hanger-airport terminal complex. Construction of the multi-purpose pre-fabricated metal fabricated hanger terminal building will commence in May 2011.

The airplane hangar will be used to park a jet-propelled helicopter and a large Kingair Twin Jet and will have enough maintenance areas to handle private planes and commercial airlines. The complex includes three pre-fabricated steel buildings linked to a 12,000-foot complex with a 100-foot open area. This area is raised to 35-feet to accommodate planes for maintenance and shelter from the elements. After the new construction is completed, the old t-hangar on the area will be dismantled to accommodate more pre-fabricated airplane hangars.

With the help of Olympia Steel Buildings’ trussless metal building design, about 300-feet of clear span space of pre-fabricated metal building construction is possible for air terminals and aircraft hangars. The company provides metal building systems and pre-fabricated steel buildings to military, private airports and other civilian agencies across the world.
