Parsons to Provide Construction, Engineering, and Technical Services to Goddard Space Flight Center

Parsons, an engineering, technical, construction, and management services company, declared that it has been chosen by NASA for the Facilities Construction, Engineering, and Technical Services (FaCETS) accord at the Greenbelt, Maryland-based located Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC).

The contract is an indefinite-quantity, indefinite-delivery and firm-fixed-price deal and has a 5-year ordering period.

As per the deal, Parsons will carry out construction management, alterations and restorations of prevailing facilities. It will provide architect/engineer services, work management and control services and information resources services. It will also conduct surveys and investigations. The company has started offering construction management and architect/engineer services to GSFC in 1995. It was awarded the 10-year FaCETS contract in 2000, thus allowing it to expand its construction and information technology support.

The GSFC campus is located on 1,200 acres of land and has 34 main buildings and a number of smaller buildings, occupying an area of around 3.3 million ft². GSFC is one of the 10 NASA centers and primarily focuses on science missions to gain better insight into the solar system, earth, sun, stars and galaxies.
