Northland Resources, a growing mining company with a number of iron ore projects in Finland and in Northern Sweden, declared that it has entered into an accord with Pöyry Sweden, a worldwide engineering and consulting company, to provide expert services using a team of professionals from Pöyry.
Northland is planning to utilize the services of the Pöyry team to complement and sustain its present management team to direct the engineering and construction stage of the Kaunisvaara Iron Ore Project.
In order to cut down the risks related to execution of the Kaunisvaara Project, Pöyry will deploy its professionals with the required key skills and exposure in engineering and construction projects of large-scale magnitude. The company also has proficient knowledge in handling mining projects located in Finland and Northern Sweden. Presently, the company is working for the development of Kevitsa nickel project owned by First Quantum Minerals in Northern Finland.
The Kaunisvaara Iron Ore Project is situated in the municipality of Pajala around 100 km north of the Arctic Circle in Northern Sweden. On completion of the project, the plant will process around 5 million tons of iron ore concentrate and 120 million tons of dry iron ore annually.
