Saint Vincent Hospital, declared that it has contracted a purchase and sales accord with the CitySquare II Development to construct a medical office building to accommodate a new and all-inclusive type of cancer center in the CitySquare development of Worcester, Mass.
The project is being developed by Opus Investment Management, an auxiliary of the Hanover Insurance Group is the main investor and the City of Worcester with $100 million funding from city, State and Federal government will remain the public partner for the project.
The new 2 story, 40,000 square foot hospital facility constructed with an investment of $21 million will incorporate cancer care services such as radiation therapy, chemotherapy and medical oncology, cancer imaging and other cancer related services. It will also provide ambulatory medical oncology services in the new facility. Presently, Saint Vincent Hospital provides treatment services to more than 1,300 cancer patents annually from its Vernon Hill in Worcester located Center for Cancer Services.
According to Enzo Centofanti, Saint Vincent Hospital’s Executive Director for Cancer Services, the new center will combine all the outpatient cancer services provided by the hospital in a single location to offer flawless and continuous cancer care to its patients. He explained that the new facility will offer specialty care services for breast and lung cancer patients in association with Fallon Clinic and other community cancer care specialists. Through its Oncology Bridge to Wellness Program at the new center will provide physiotherapy, psycho/social services, and other therapies to patients and family members.
