Jacobs Engineering Group has stated that it is offering construction management agency (CMA) services for the proposed Veteran Affairs Medical Center, which supplants the existing medical center for the Eastern Colorado Health Care System of the Department of Veterans Affairs in Aurora, Colorado. The value of the contract is not revealed by the officials.
The proposed 1.2-million-square-foot new medical center will have facilities such as the 184-bed hospital for the veterans, a medical clinic, a diagnostic center for spinal cord injury, dental clinics, laboratories and a community living center. The medical center will also have the supporting facilities such as administrative offices, training center, recreation center, and energy and utilities.
The project has received $800 million as funding from the government. The building project, which is targeted to achieve LEED-Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, is planned for completion in 2014.
