BBVA Compass has declared its plans to build a new eco-friendly corporate office at 2200 Post Oak Blvd in Houston. The proposed BBVA corporate building will be designed to meet the LEED Gold certification requirements.
BBVA is planning to relocate all its operations currently located at various parts of the Greater Houston area to the new corporate office building. It also has plans to shift its Op and Tech center, situated in Port West, to a new place, which is currently undergoing modifications to achieve LEED Gold certification.
BBVA Compass is estimated to cover around 150,000 square feet in the proposed 380,000 square-foot Houston construction and will have its entire staff under one roof. The proposed move will also allow BBVA to restructure its real estate facilities located in various places and bring in all its U.S. subsidiaries in one building.
BBVA Compass will engage the services of a Houston-based company, Redstone Real Estate, for developing the project. Manhattan Constructions has been roped on to supervise the total construction and to complete the project. The official ground breaking of the project is anticipated to take place in May 2011. The company anticipates occupying the building by the end of the first quarter of 2013.
