SolarEdge Technologies, a supplier of total end-to-end distributed solar power generation and control systems, and Big Solar, belonging to the Bitros Group and a major supplier of solar PV products, have declared that Big Solar will erect over 4 MW SolarEdge power generating systems in Greece.
The distributed SolarEdge solar power solutions supplied by SolarEdge Technologies includes power optimizers with in-built modules and single and three-phase solar inverters in the range of 3.3 kW to 12.5 kW. The PowerBoxes offered by SolarEdge gives access to a PV monitoring portal for the purpose of diagnosing module-level problems. By incorporating the 12.5 kW inverters and power optimizers supplied by SolarEdge, Big Solar will be able to strategically position itself to deliver solar solutions for the 100 kW solar systems that are installed in Greece. With a notable share in the Greek solar market, Big Solar is planning to target the up-coming solar farms and the rooftops in the ever-expanding commercial and residential areas. From the third quarter of 2010 till date, Big Solar has traded over 200 SolarEdge systems to the residential segment.
The company is looking forward to making a big entry into the commercial and residential rooftop solar installation segment. According to Ioannis Bitros, President and key shareholder of Big Solar, SolarEdge guarantees the right solution for both system owners and PV installers irrespective of the system type. The three phase inverters, supplied by the company, will allow the owners of commercial and medium sized solar installations to achieve improved performance and cost-efficiency.
