McCaffery Interests declared that Flair Tower, a building developed by the company, has earned the LEED Silver Certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).
To achieve the stipulated LEED criteria, the tower deployed energy conserving materials and incorporated a range of sustainable strategies.
The Flair Tower is a boutique apartment building that has around 198 luxury residential apartments, around 9,500 square foot of retail space and 185 parking slots. The building utilized the design of Antunovich Associates and was constructed by W.E. O'Neil Construction Company. The tower was built utilizing eco-friendly design, water conserving plumbing, paints and sealants with low level of volatile organic compounds (VOC) and finally locally manufactured and re-used building materials.
Flair Tower is a place with a mixed bag of residential and commercial communities that is close to the CTA train station and various bus lines. For the purpose of encouraging alternative modes of transportation, the tower incorporates a bicycle storage room, a change room and I-Go Car sharing facility.
