KBR Signs FEED Accord for the Development of Kitimat LNG Project

KBR, engineering, construction and services providing company, declared that it has signed a front-end engineering and design (FEED) accord with KM LNG Operating General Partnership for the development of Kitimat Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), close to Kitimat, British Columbia, Canada.

KM LNG Operating General Partnership is an auxiliary company of Apache and manages the Kitimat LNG Development. KM LNG Operating General Partnership and an auxiliary of EOG Resources jointly own the Kitimat LNG Development.

KBR will offer FEED services for the progress of the Kitimat LNG facility, which is expected to become an LNG plant wholly powered by electricity. The LNG treating installation will be located around 15 kilometers southeast of Kitimat. The installation will have facilities to treat LNG and the required infrastructure for it along with management and marine facilities. The project work is anticipated to commence soon.

According to Mitch Dauzat, KBR Gas Monetization’s President, the contract underlines the capabilities of the company in executing projects at remote places and in developing a supporting structure to sustain the communities during the development of the project.
