BioTray Vegetated Roof Delivery System Receives Best Green Product

Tremco Roofing and Building Maintenance’s BioTray vegetated roof delivery system received the Best Green Product at the 2011 International Roofing Expo, which was held in Las Vegas.

Around 20 popular products were showcased in the event’s Product Showcase, an exclusive area allotted to cutting-edge and latest solutions that enabled audiences to view, experience and evaluate the latest eco-friendly products. From these eligible products, a group of judges selected the winning products under the ‘Best New Product’ and ‘Best Green Product’ categories.

The BioTray is an innate, recyclable and modular system, developed exclusively for vegetated rooftops. The modules of the system are square trays measuring 17 inches and they include fibrous recyclable coconut coir and natural latex.

In contrast to the conventional modular systems, BioTray’s coconut fiber putrefies over time and the entire module is transformed into soil. This feature avoids the utilization of plastic in nurturing and setting vegetated rooftops and also enhances the roof’s endurance. The system can be utilized in little plants, enabling clients to pre-determine plants in an off-site plant nursery. This also helps Tremco to set up vegetated roofs that are ascertained from the first day. This method not only offers grown-up and healthy plants but also avoids strain on the plants during the setting up of the system.

BioTrays serve as a significant component of the vegetated rooftop on Tremco’s headquarters, revealing how their firm serves as an example in utilizing products that are sold to clients.
