Green America Decor introduces PrismaReflect, a translucent, energy-efficient, vertical window blind.
“This is a tremendous product and we are excited to introduce it to the commercial, residential and hospitality design markets in the United States,” says Chief Marketing Officer, Steven Corbeille. “The engineering behind it has revolutionized window treatments as we know it.”
PrismaReflect, manufactured by German-based optical lighting company PrismaPlex, is designed to significantly reduce energy costs used in keeping an interior space lit and cool. It reflects up to 95% of solar energy (direct light and heat) while transmitting up to 92% of naturally diffused sunlight. The secret lies in the louver’s 90° micro-prismatic composition.
“It is a common misconception that standard shades are deflecting heat from entering a room. As a matter of fact, that heat is being absorbed by the shade and will then rise to the top of the room. This demands a constant flow of air conditioning to maintain a comfortable room temperature,” says Chief Executive Officer, Cesar Costa. PrismaReflect is proven to decrease the temperature of a room between 11°F - 18°F and remains cool to the touch by absorbing a mere 2% of solar heat.
The primary component, polymethylmethacrylate, is characterized by its hard mechanical strength, flexible molding capabilities and excellent light transmission. The louvers can be ordered in custom shapes and come with a limited lifetime warranty. The product is ideal for windows that receive strong sunlight, but PrismaReflect can also be used as a room divider since it provides visibility to the other side.
“This product is a perfect example of Green America Decor’s mission,” says Corbeille. PrismaReflect provides abundant, natural sunlight for an interior, which has proven physiological benefits to humans, plants and animals while reducing energy costs at the same time. And it’s an eye-catcher in any space!”
