National Clean Fuels, Inc. (PinkSheets:NACF) announced today that the company signed a letter of intent along with Mid-Atlantic Solar Concepts, LLC to collaborate on a solar modular home-building training program for disabled veterans and ex-offenders.
The proposed training program is intended to provide construction, manufacturing and solar installation instruction to disabled war veterans and transitioning ex-offenders in the District of Columbia. The goal of the project will be to support the sustained employability of both groups in the solar modular industry while producing affordable and market-rate housing in the area. According to the letter of intent, National Clean Fuels will provide the financial support, solar materials and technical expertise necessary to complete the project. Mid-Atlantic Solar Concepts will be responsible for the implementation, management and reporting for all project phases.
“This is an innovative project that supports our company’s mission to showcase new and forward-thinking renewable energy technologies capable of changing the face of everyday power consumption,” said NACF President and Chairman Maurice Stone. “Mid-Atlantic Solar Concepts is an ideal partner to help us achieve this goal, and we look forward to completing a definitive agreement soon.”
The proposed training program is not National Clean Fuels’ first endeavor to create employment opportunities for the disadvantaged. In November, the company signed an option agreement with Southeast Vocational Alliance, Inc., a multifaceted agency dedicated to providing disabled military veterans and others with disabilities with training and jobs in fields such as product manufacturing and services. That mission includes distributing and implementing clean, alternative HVAC lubrication and energy solutions to government and commercial customers.
