Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it received a basic ordering agreement (BOA) to provide design-build services at EnRoute Facilities for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Officials indicated that the maximum BOA value is $271 million for the entire performance period. The base period of performance begins the date of agreement award and lasts through sixty months, with two twenty-four-month options. If both options are exercised, the total performance period is expected to be nine years.
Jacobs' scope of work for the project includes design-build services to support the FAA's National Airspace System (NAS) and Capital Investment Plan (CIP). Design-build services for new and existing FAA facilities include strategic facilities planning, cost estimating, construction support, hazardous materials abatement and related services.
The EnRoute Facilities Planning and Modernization Program supports operations and service levels through facility life cycle program management of the nation's 21 Air Route Traffic Control Centers (ARTCC) and the Combined EnRoute Radar Approach Control Facilities (CERAPs) at San Juan, Puerto Rico and Guam.
In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Tom McDuffie stated, "Jacobs is delighted to be selected for this significant contract. We look forward to supporting the FAA in the design and construction of facilities that support the nation's air traffic control system."
