Sea Gull Lighting's LED Festoon Lamp
"With the economy, there is a surge in remodeling -- as most people are less likely to upgrade into new homes, but rather upgrade their existing homes. Lighting is a cost effective way to transform a room with little investment," said Tom Nash, Lighting Specialist at Sea Gull Lighting. "As consumers look to become more energy efficient, our LED festoon is a perfect retrofit into existing systems. And, it pays for itself within three years."
The new Lx LED festoon delivers long life (35,000 hours+) and added energy efficiency (4x more efficient than conventional light sources), saving up to 92% on utility bills. The festoon light source is also dimmable with a standard dimming switch -- a feature not standard with many LED lamps. In addition, for those looking to retrofit an existing lighting system, the new Lx LED festoons simply snap into existing Ambiance Lx systems and many standard xenon systems in homes today.
The Lx LED festoon light source is available in two color temperatures (warm white and cool white). It is best suited for task & accent lighting for under-the-cabinet, cove and toe-kick space lighting. The directional nature of LED is also ideal for in-cabinet lighting by reducing the glare of the light source.
For those retrofitting an existing system, the festoon will operate with magnetic transformers by simply snapping in a replacement lamp.
Electronic transformer installations would warrant retrofitting with a zero-load transformer in addition to the lamp due to the low wattage consumption of the LED's and minimum load requirements of standard electronic transformers.
