It used to be said the construction crane was the "state bird of Texas."
In recent years there have been few sightings of this endangered species, but on Friday, November 12 at 1:00 PM, construction cranes will rise once again in Bedford as Texas Orthopedic Specialists breaks ground on a new 26,000 square foot, state-of-the-art medical facility that will serve the needs of the practice's growing patient base in Northeast Tarrant County. The two-story facility will include space for four surgeons in clinic simultaneously, advanced x-ray and MRI facilities, and other office and patient waiting room areas.
"We believe strongly in the future growth prospects of the Hurst/Euless/Bedford (HEB) area, and are excited to begin work on an outstanding new facility that will enable us to provide even better care for our current and future patients," said O. David Taunton, Jr., M.D., Texas Orthopedic Specialists.
"Three years of planning through challenging economic times, changes in the banking industry, and uncertainty in the medical field has not deterred us in our goal to become one of the premier orthopedic practices in the Dallas/Fort Worth area," added Howard W. Harris, M.D., Texas Orthopedic Specialists.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the new facility, which is located at 2425 Highway 121 just south of Glade Road, will begin at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 12. The HEB Chamber of Commerce, local elected officials, and other dignitaries will be present at the ceremony.
Ridgemont Commercial Construction, a diversified commercial construction services firm serving the North Texas region since 1976, is the general contractor on the project, while Ascension Group Architects is providing architectural and design services.
