Suffolk Construction Company, Inc., one of the nation’s leading privately held construction management firms, recently received the 2010 Project of the Year award from the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) for the Aventura Arts and Cultural Center project.
The award, given by the Florida East Coast Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), goes to the construction process and resulting building that embodies the greatest combination of quality, safety, design, problem-solving and relationship management.
“We are extremely proud that ABC has recognized us for the hard work we put into our projects,” said Rex B. Kirby, president and general manager of Suffolk’s Southeast Region. “The Project of the Year award is the highest honor that the East Coast Chapter of ABC bestows. We as a company are very proud of our project team’s dedication to these projects and are all honored to be recognized for such great accomplishments.”
In addition to the coveted Project of the Year award, Suffolk’s projects were selected as winners in the “Commercial Buildings over $125 Million”, “Mixed Use Buildings from $30 Million to $75 Million”, “Institutional Buildings from $30 Million to $74 Million” and the “Public Works $5 Million to $15 Million” categories for the following projects: Met 2 Office Building; Fifth and Alton Vertical Retail Center; Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Studies; and Aventura Arts and Cultural Center.
