Ceco Door, an ASSA ABLOY Group brand, and the leader in hollow metal doors and frames, is pleased to announce a new patent pending sound absorbing technology designed for high performing acoustical doors.
This new design is ideal for applications requiring a high Sound Transmission Class (STC) commonly found in airports, healthcare, hospitality, subways, schools, government/military, and municipal buildings.
The new Ceco STC 47-54 doors are 30% lighter and thinner than most typical high STC doors, eliminating the need for expensive heavy weight or cam-lift hinges. The lightweight design means lower shipping and handling costs compared to other high STC doors and makes field installation easy. Available in single and double openings, these doors come with a variety of hardware options including exit devices and ADA compliant thresholds. Also, factory installed glazing is available on doors with STC 35-46 ratings using 5/16" thick acoustical glass. All products have been successfully third-party tested and certified to the required American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards, and are manufactured in compliance with SDI 128 and HMMA 865-03 specifications. This new design also supports Ceco's sustainability initiatives with a high recycled content and is lead and formaldehyde-free.
"The new acoustical product line allows Ceco to address market requirements with innovative solutions that offer a competitive value to the end-user," stated Steve Smith, Product Manager at Ceco Door Products. "Product innovation, design options, quick-ship capabilities, and cost-efficiencies are all substantial benefits to building owners, contractors, distributors, and architectural/project management teams competing for quality, cost effective building solutions."
Ceco achieved a complete acoustical door package system by teaming with PEMKO Manufacturing, another ASSA ABLOY Group brand.
