Certainly one of the largest BMW Dealerships in the UK, Sytner of High Wycombe, Bucks, is an absolute state of the art motor sales and servicing premises designed by the Motor Design Group (MDG) of Warwick. Featuring unusual facilities such as a fully glazed high level showroom feature and a first floor servicing area, it was essential that the overall building envelope reflected the quality of the vehicles.
MDG called on Architectural Profiles Ltd to provide the envelope.
Architectural Profiles Ltd. has designed and patented the 'Tritherm Spacer System'. This structural unit provides the fixing of the external envelope to the main structure of the building – and it is used for flat panel systems, half round profiles cladding, standing seam roofs, cantilevered verge details etc. It is proven to add strength to a construction whilst saving on conventional fixings and greatly speeding up installation.
At Sytner in High Wycombe, APL provided the aluminium 'twin skin' standing seam roof with Rockwool insulation, the AP45 Half Round profile for service centre and delivery areas, louvre profiles and the CPS Flat rainscreen panels in silver – all installed using variations of the APL Tritherm Spacer System.
Architectural Profiles Ltd. has worked with MDG on a number of prestigious projects who specify APL for their engineering detail, system integrity and knowledgeable support services.
The main contractor on the project was Talbot Construction working on a GMP contract and the roofing and cladding contractor was Gale Construction of Norfolk.
