Ipe Decks from Dream Builders General Contractors Are Economical

Dream Builders General Contractors announced today a Brazilian hardwood option for ecologically concerned homeowners.

Ipe, or "ironwood," is eight times harder than redwood (twice as hard as oak), resistant to fire, and has natural antibacterial oils--which gives ipe decks a lifespan of up to 100 years. Additionally, ipe does not splinter and gray like traditional redwood; once sealed, ipe assumes a rich color that leaves a smooth finish.

An epi deck built by Dream Builders near San Francisco.

“Ipe decks are economical because they last 40 years without any maintenance and up to 100 years with maintenance,” said Marlene Perez, co-founder of Dream Builders General Contractors. “At Dream Builders we also conserve by carefully designing and installing each ipe deck we build to minimize wasted materials.”

Because it wears so well and lasts so long, ipe is considered by many to be an environmentally friendly, or green, material when it is harvested from government regulated sustainable forests. Dream Builders General Contractors' designers and team of expert installers has experience working with ipe for more than 6 years; they ensure homeowners receive a quality installation and service.
