Color Coated EcoGlass Now Available Through Stone Source

The Bendheim/ Stone Source collaboration brings Color Coated EcoGlass™, a distinctive collection of large-format, back-painted, eco-friendly architectural glass products to architects and designers. Color Coated EcoGlass is available exclusively through Stone Source.

“Bendheim is an excellent partner for Stone Source given that the company is a proven supplier of distinctive architectural and decorative glass products,” says Evan Nussbaum, VP of Product Sourcing for Stone Source. “When we had a need for sustainable, large-format glass cladding to complement our products, Bendheim became the obvious choice. In addition, I believe Stone Source’s knowledge of architectural sales, as well as our extensive group of architectural sales representatives, will be an asset to this collaboration.”

Color Coated EcoGlass

Color Coated EcoGlass, with its colors, textures, large format and stunning appearance, is a perfect addition to the Stone Source product offering, given Stone Source’s commitment to providing carefully selected, distinctive materials. Products are available in sheet sizes up to 60” x 120”. These large sheets contribute to a seamless aesthetic as grout lines are virtually eliminated. In addition, projects designed with larger pieces require less installation time and result in lower cost. Smaller tiles (as small as 2”x2”) and cut to size / waterjet fabrication is also available.

The Color Coated EcoGlass offering consists of five textures (Bamboo, Cast, Coral, Gothic and Solar), each in up to 14 carefully selected colors, including neutral, metallic, and pearlescent colors, as well as several bold hues – red, orange, pink, purple and blue. Custom colors are also available depending on project size.

Each of the products in the Color Coated EcoGlass Collection is comprised of 25-40% post-consumer recycled glass, as well as a minimum of 20% post-industrial recycled glass. In addition, Bendheim’s proprietary color-coating process employs isocyanate-free pigments to produce VOC-free glass for improved indoor air quality. The glass in safety-tempered form is produced in Bendheim’s energy-efficient, sulfur dioxide-free tempering furnace, an added green benefit. The collection can contribute to LEED® Credit MR 4.

The glass surfaces are maintenance-friendly, and the durable color coatings are formulated and applied to last for many years. Color Coated EcoGlass is suitable as wall cladding for interior feature walls, hotel lobbies, elevator interiors, backsplashes, table tops and counter tops, including kitchen counter tops, and furniture inserts.

“This collaboration combines Bendheim’s ability to develop unique glass products with Stone Source’s discerning knowledge of the architectural materials market,” says Donald Jayson, Senior Vice President of Bendheim. “Our partnership allows us to bring a truly distinctive glass collection to architects and designers throughout the country.”

The glass will be exhibited in Stone Source’s showrooms located in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New Jersey, New York, and Washington DC, and will be available through the company’s national sales force.
