Eggrock, Inc., the premier manufacturer of factory-built bathrooms in North America, announced today it would be supplying Mortenson Construction, one of the nation’s leading General Contractors, with factory-built bathroom units for its recently awarded Warrior in Transition (WT) Barracks project located in Ft. Carson, CO.
The WT program was implemented by the U.S. Army to care for wounded soldiers, their families and caregivers. WT barracks provide quality housing for soldiers who require long term medical care.
The Ft. Carson Barracks is the first military project for Eggrock who has advanced its factory-built bathroom technology in the hospitality, healthcare and student housing markets. “Eggrock’s factory-built bathrooms are a perfect fit for military housing. ”, stated Jeff Barrett, President and CEO of Eggrock. “ The U.S. Government advocates the use of creative building technologies that support fast-track construction and green building methods. Eggrock’s factory-built bathrooms allow barracks to be constructed much faster and with dramatically less waste, yet with exceptional quality and durability that exceeds tough military standards.”
Mortenson is using cutting-edge building information modeling (BIM) to integrate Eggrock’s bathroom pod into the building design. Eggrock’s BIM model of the bathroom is also used to control every aspect of the manufacturing process to improve quality and reduce waste. Eggrock estimates that Mortenson will eliminate over 600 cubic yards of construction waste by using its bathrooms for this project.
While evaluating the benefits of factory-built bathrooms, Mortenson Construction saw the value Eggrock would add to their project. “We feel this product provides a cost competitive solution for the 120 bathrooms which are included as part of the project”, said Jason Hopper, Senior Preconstruction Manager, Mortenson Construction. “Eggrock bathrooms will enhance the overall project schedule and provide a reliable standard of quality which we are proud to provide to the soldiers."
