Growth in demand for ultra-low maintenance composite decking is one of the hottest topics of the industry in 2010. Although overall decking demand remains sluggish, the ultra-low maintenance category is exploding.
Principia Partners’ 7th annual executive conference on WOOD-PLASTIC and NATURAL FIBER COMPOSITES 2010 used in decking, railing, fencing and other outdoor building products at the Charlotte Marriott City Center, Charlotte, NC on October 4 and 5, 2010 will review the ultra-low maintenance decking as well as many other topics. This year’s conference tackles the industry’s hottest topics by using short, focused presentations in combination with audience polling technology and panel discussions.
Chris Grandpre, President & CEO of Outdoor Living Brands and the Archadeck Franchise will kick off the conference with “Outdoor Living 2010 and Beyond: A Perspective on Trends from Archadeck & Outdoor Living Brands.” His presentation will review the ultra-low maintenance decking issue as well as the demand and material trends for such other products as railing, outdoor structures, hardscapes, and outdoor kitchens.
Brian Wolf, Director Strategic Market Insight for the Lowe's Companies is another lead speaker. Steve Van Kouteren, Principal and Conference Chair at Principia, says “We are excited about this year’s conference. The new hot topics format will give delegates in-depth discussions on the industry’s most important issues. We also will use audience polling technology for real-time audience feedback on the discussions.”
Other conference presentations will include the status of wood-synthetic adoption curve, the competition between hardscapes / patios and decks, technology developments and the impact on product performance and aesthetics, and changes in the distribution channel including pro-dealers and the big box retail channel.
Principia's unique forum continues to be an outstanding way for attendees to learn and network with others from around the world. The event will offer the industry an opportunity to collaborate, build and enhance strategic partnerships and alliances while broadening the traditional scope of the building products industry.
In addition, companies including raw materials, equipment, and processing leaders will exhibit their latest product and service offerings aimed at the wood-plastic and natural fiber composites industry. The exhibition gives attendees an opportunity to discuss first-hand their specific needs and interests with these various suppliers.
