DCO Energy LLC has signed an EPC agreement with MCS Energy Partners, an implementing partner of NBS Energy Partners.
DCO Energy will design, build and begin operation of solar installations at seven major facilities throughout the City of New Brunswick. The facilities include three schools, parking decks and a water treatment facility, with the new high school becoming the first facility to open and generate electricity.
As part of the design, DCO Energy is providing local viewing stations so students and residents can see real time generation of electric power from the solar installations and learn more about renewable energy. All seven facilities will be operational by the end of 2010.
The amount of electricity generated by these facilities annually would power over 3,700 homes. This installation has been noted as one of the largest multi-building installation in New Jersey.
"New Brunswick is a leader in utilizing solar technology to lower energy costs, save money and reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions," said Frank DiCola, President of DCO Energy. "DCO Energy is proud to assist in this effort through the design and construction of these 7 solar facilities."
