Parksite, Inc. today announced it has partnered with National Gypsum, a leading building products manufacturer known for innovation in wall systems, to distribute Gold Bond® BRAND SoundBreak® XP® Gypsum Board.
Introduced by National Gypsum in 2007, SoundBreak XP is an acoustically enhanced panel that minimizes the transmission of airborne sound between living spaces such as bedrooms, bathrooms, home theaters and media rooms as well as between dwelling units in multi-family settings such as apartments and townhouses. It is a thinner, less expensive, more reliable alternative to other sound-reduction methods and was designed to answer a growing demand for increased privacy and less sound intrusion. SoundBreak XP is available as a 1/2 inch panel for residential construction and also in 5/8 inch Fire-Shield® for commercial applications where a fire-resistant sound assembly is required.
“We strive to offer the building industry a combination of product solutions, comprehensive training and value-added service,” said Scott Gettelfinger, director of commercial sales at Parksite. “SoundBreak XP is a great complement to our existing product offering, backed by a company that’s recognized nationally for high-quality products, technical innovation and strong market leadership.”
SoundBreak XP is available in thicknesses of 1/2 inch or 5/8 inch Type X panels that are 4 feet wide and 8 feet or 10 feet long. In addition to industry-leading sound-damping technology, SoundBreak XP offers advanced moisture and mold resistance and a high level of abuse resistance. Parksite will stock the product at all eight of its distribution centers throughout the eastern United States.
“We’re pleased to partner with a distributor that’s known for representing the highest quality building products,” said Duane Wood, director of national accounts at National Gypsum. “The combined network of Parksite’s distribution centers and National Gypsum’s manufacturing plants will offer customers short lead times and potentially even regional building materials credit in green building rating systems such as LEED.”
