Turner Receives School Construction Project in New York

Turner Construction Company, the nation's largest builder of education facilities, has been awarded a $54.7 million contract to provide construction services by the New York City School Construction Authority for PS/IS 51M in New York, N.Y.

The project is scheduled for substantial completion in July 2013, in time for the coming school year.

The scope of work includes construction of a 98,433 sq. ft. school located on West 44th Street in Manhattan to accommodate 640 students. The facility will include 24 classrooms, two special education classrooms in addition to other educational amenities and faculty facilities.

"Turner is proud to continue its relationship with the New York City School Construction Authority to manage construction of this school to benefit the students and meet the needs of the school system and surrounding neighborhood," said Charles Murphy, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Turner's New York operations.
