Tec Ties is launching the two-part tie in various lengths to fit wider cavities commonly used nowadays in office, hospital and school building programmes.
The new, two-part wall tie has a ‘turn and lock’ connection which is unique to this product.
Bob McGrouther, Sales Manager at Tec Ties, said: “We believe that the turn and lock connection in our two-part wall tie is stronger and more rigid than other two-part wall ties on the market.”
He added: “The market for two-part ties has grown significantly as architects specify wider cavities and thicker insulation to achieve higher thermal properties in cavity walls. This is particularly noticeable in the construction of schools, hospitals and care homes where it is desirable to reduce heat loss. Construction companies are recognising the cost benefits of using Tec Ties products with their unique design and proven quality.”
Based in New Mills, Tec Ties is particularly well-known for its range of construction fixings, particularly the tangle free wall ties which save bricklayers and builders lots of time by helping them to avoid having to untangle wall ties during bricklaying.
Tec Ties is the only company amongst UK wall tie manufacturers and UK wall tie suppliers to address, in a serious way, the environmental impact of supplying wall ties.
The tangle free wall ties are supplied in bundles, rather than boxes, which mean less waste on site and lower landfill taxes for builders. The stainless steel, tangle free wall ties are easier to store particularly in inclement weather and provide excellent corrosion resistance and long term durability.
The company’s products range from cavity wall ties to restraint ties, movement ties, starter ties, replacement wall ties, and remedial ties, through to wind post and brickwork supports, sliding anchors, channel systems, masonry reinforcement, timber connectors, and plasterers beads.
Tec Ties’ best selling wall ties include:
- TT4 Housing Ties
- TT2 General Purpose Ties
- TTDT Double Triangle Ties
- TTSPE Movement Ties
- TTID Insulation Discs
- TTFC Frame Cramps, and
- TTTF Timber Frame Ties
Tec Ties distribute their range of products through builders’ merchants across the whole of the UK.
Tec Ties was established in 2003 by its owners, Managing Director Bob Wood and Finance Director Diane Morlidge, who entered the construction fixings market with their unique range of cavity wall ties.
Said Bob Wood: “We have a deep rooted history in the construction fixings market; in fact, my father designed and made the first volume production wall tie machines in the UK back in the 1940s.”
The company provides a number of product specification sheets on its website for clients to download free of charge.
