Following the huge success of the Cold Fusion Bonded Built-Up Roofing System, Liquid Plastics is now launching a completely cold applied Inverted Roof System, which differs from its conventional counterparts because of its seamless Decothane waterproofing layer.
Traditional bitumen or felt waterproofing systems incorporate joints, seams and other areas that have the potential for early failure. Should failure occur the roof is then susceptible to water penetration and because the waterproofing layer is situated at the bottom of the system, it is the most difficult to reach and so can be extremely costly and complicated to repair. After the installation of a seamless Decothane waterproofing layer, the membrane is fully tested to ensure there are no leaks or pinholes, using either electrical testing or flood testing methods. This ensures the system is completely waterproof before the application of the upper layers. Decothane is completely cold applied thus eradicating the need for heat or naked flame during the application process, allowing for safer working practices. Root resistant grades of Decothane are recommended for application in inverted roof situations as these are proven to prevent any penetration through the membrane by plants or weeds. Decothane can be rapidly installed and can even cure under ponded water, providing immediate protection and cutting on-site times and associated costs to a minimum.
The Inverted Roof System can be completed with Liquid Plastics' Inverted Roof Board Insulation, a Liquid Plastics' Filtration Layer and topped with ballast or pavers.
All components of the system are cold applied, can be quickly installed and the Decothane membrane can be guaranteed for up to 25 years.
