Suntech of Connecticut, Inc., a leading architectural glazing company specializing in commercial contracting, proudly announces that they have been selected as the provider of new highly energy efficient, hurricane resistant and blast resistant windows and glass for the Regional Training Institute (RTI) at Camp Rell.

The project entails construction of a new 83,000 square foot brick facility, situated adjacent to Colonel Nett Hall. Slated to take up 10 acres at Camp Rell, the development is valued at $34.5 million, with $30.5 million in federal and $4.0 million in state funding, and is set for completion in 2011.

As preferred vendor, Suntech of Connecticut, Inc. will provide custom applications and installations for the new Regional Training Institute, which will support classes of up to 288 students and 14 instructors at the National Guard's military facility. The building will also include an auditorium, classrooms, administrative space, kitchen, dining and billeting rooms, and the project was recently celebrated in a groundbreaking ceremony featuring Connecticut Governor M. Jodi Rell. The Regional Training Institute at Camp Rell will provide an educational training complex in order to train and maintain the future leadership of the Northern eastern National Guard. In his March 19, 2008 letter to the House Armed Services Committee, Connecticut Congressman Joe Courtney described the RTI facility as critical to the implementation of the most current and innovative instructional techniques.
