Boca Grove Golf and Tennis Club has announced a $3.5 million total renovation to its existing golf course.
The renovations, to be completed by famed Jim Fazio Golf Design, will include a complete overhaul and upgrade of the irrigation system, redesign and replacement of the greens complexes, reshape and regrass of the course, redesign of fairway bunkers, and reshaping/regrassing of all fairways and rough. "The renovation and redesign will provide a course that not only challenges low handicappers, but allows players of all levels to enjoy the golfing experience," stated Roger Pressman, chairperson of the Boca Grove Green Committee.
Mr. Fazio explained, "My intent at Boca Grove is to take a fine golf course and make it even better. Our redesign will establish Boca Grove as one of the premier golf communities in South Florida." With courses on his resume such as Trump International, Frenchman's Creek, and Hawks Nest, Jim Fazio has a reputation for excellence.
The golf course renovation is part of Boca Grove's long-term improvement strategy, which includes a completely rebuilt state of the art clubhouse only two years ago. "The golf course renovation and the new clubhouse show a commitment by the Boca Grove membership to preserve the unique lifestyle offered by this small, upscale community," added Howard Slavin, President of the Boca Grove Board of Directors.
Construction is scheduled to begin on the new Boca Grove course in April 2011, to be completed in fall of that year. Upon completion, Boca Grove will continue to be one of the few private golf courses in South Florida that requires no tee times.
