ValleyCrest Landscape Companies, the United States’ leading integrated landscape services firm, today announced that it has selected Irritrol’s Rain Master Central Control Systems as a preferred provider for smart, weather-based irrigation controllers.
The Rain Master line of central controllers provide customers with precision irrigation solutions to better manage water usage – all while creating healthy landscapes.
“ValleyCrest is partnering with Irritrol because we understand the importance of water management for our customers and also the need to simplify the application of complex technologies onto our customers’ properties,” said Roger Zino, president of ValleyCrest Landscape Maintenance. “After an extensive product review and testing process in which our water management technology team evaluated a wide range of solutions, we determined that the Irritrol branded Rain Master products and services were a good match for the needs of many of our customers.”
Smart controllers adjust irrigation watering times based upon actual weather conditions; for example, watering less when cloudy and cool and more when warmer and drier. By appropriate application of smart controller technologies, in combination with other water management practices including drought tolerant plantings, use of drip irrigation, hydrozoning, and storm water management techniques, ValleyCrest can make significant differences in the amount of water used on the properties it services.
“We are very excited to work with ValleyCrest as a preferred partner,” said John Torosian, national sales manager for Rain Master Central Control Systems. “It’s an opportunity for both companies to work together in a more collaborative effort to develop the finest landscapes and provide the best service, while managing critical water resources. This working relationship benefits from ValleyCrest’s professional services and from Irritrol’s Rain Master products and systems.”
Smartly reducing water usage is the right decision for many reasons – it helps lower water and energy costs for property owners, improves plant health, reduces water-related damage to roads, sidewalks, and other site elements, and is just the right thing to do from the standpoint of environmental stewardship. Studies show that without proper water management systems in place a property typically is overwatered by 30 percent.
“It is vital to partner with a company that we are confident supports our commitment to be good stewards of the environment, to deliver the right economic benefits to our customers, and to build and maintain beautiful landscapes that work for our customers’ businesses,” said Zino. “Commercial owners and managers are proactively managing their expense structures and expect to achieve strong returns on the investments they make into their properties. It is our job to identify for them opportunities to improve their sites consistent with these needs as well as the safety, aesthetic and functional requirements of each property. Smart controllers are a smart investment for most sites and we are excited to partner with Irritrol’s Rain Master Central Control Systems to deliver for our customers.”
