Renewable Energy Systems Americas Inc. (RES Americas), a national leader in the development and construction of renewable energy projects, has created RES Earth and Cable, LLC, a new entity, to enhance the company's construction portfolio.
RES Americas acquired the construction assets and workforce of Key Enterprises, Inc., a professional self performance contractor specializing in construction techniques associated with the construction of wind energy and utilities projects. Based in Austin, Texas, Key Enterprises focused on trenching, underground utilities, road construction, electrical cable installation, civil work, and rock crushing.
In creating RES Earth and Cable, LLC, RES Americas will acquire earth-moving and cable laying equipment as well as a skilled workforce, resulting in increased internal construction capabilities.
While RES Americas will now have the potential for self performance, the company will continue to use subcontractors and partners on various projects across the country. RES Americas and RES Earth and Cable will continue their commitment to use local resources on a project whenever possible. In addition to working on certain RES Americas projects, RES Earth and Cable, LLC will provide construction services to third-party clients in the Utility and Wind Energy business sectors.
"Creating RES Earth and Cable, LLC continues to strengthen RES Americas' position as a leader in the construction of renewable energy projects," said Andrew Fowler, Executive Vice President of Construction, RES Americas. "The acquired assets and personnel from Key Enterprises arrive with a solid track record on the projects they have built for RES Americas in the past. They will provide a greater flexibility and bandwidth for RES Americas to compete on RES Americas developed and third party construction projects as well as giving RES Americas increased control to provide quality projects on time."
