ASLA to Offer Education Credits for USGBC LEED Credential Maintenance

For the first time, the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) will offer continuing education credits for U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED credential maintenance, adding to a record number of education opportunities at the 2010 ASLA Annual Meeting and EXPO.

The meeting also features dozens of sessions approved by the Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System (LA CES), the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA). The event takes place September 10-13 in Washington, D.C.

Attendees can select from more than 134 workshops, tours, field sessions, general sessions and education programs. The breakdown of continuing education includes:

  • 119 sessions approved by LA CES (up from 106 in 2009)
  • 78 sessions approved by AICP (up from 42 in 2009)
  • 72 sessions approved by USGBC for LEED credential maintenance (new this year)
  • 52 sessions approved by AIA (up from 24 in 2009)

In addition to multidisciplinary education sessions, ASLA extends its member registration rates to members of the AIA, APA and the Urban Land Institute. Following the meeting, ASLA will provide attendees with a confirmation of all sessions attended throughout the annual meeting.
