Thermal Industries Donates Custom Vinyl Replacement Windows

Thermal Industries, Inc., a Division of Atrium Companies, today announced the gift of 50 custom-made vinyl replacement windows to the non-profit organization, Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh.

David Rascoe, president of Thermal industries, stated, “In honor of our 50th Anniversary as an industry leader, we are proud to announce the donation of 50 custom-made ENERGY STAR® qualified windows to Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh, as well as an ongoing partnership that provides future window support to this important organization. The retail value of this donation is approximately $20,000.”

Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh Executive Director Steve Hellner-Burris and Board President Frank Hammond were on hand for the announcement.

“This donation will impact approximately 15 homes in our area. Residences in the Hazelwood, Homewood and Wilkinsburg neighborhoods have already been selected to receive Thermal Industries’ replacement windows,” stated Mr. Hellner-Burris.

Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh is a nonprofit organization that rehabilitates the houses of low-income homeowners, particularly the elderly, so they may continue to live in warmth, safety and independence.

Mr. Rascoe further stated, “We, along with the thousands of volunteers who give their time each year, recognize the importance of rehabilitating homes, rather than allowing them to become a blight upon the community. This is the ultimate in recycling – keeping communities strong by helping homeowners maintain their residences, and more importantly, live in their homes with safety and independence. Furthermore, we are excited to announce that our employees can volunteer as a group to assist in Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh’s National Rebuilding Day as well as its Corporate Workdays program.”

Fifty years ago, Thermal Industries founder David Weis envisioned a new kind of window that would revolutionize the way windows are manufactured today. Thermal Industries introduced America’s first custom vinyl replacement window – officially recognized by the American Architectural Manufacturers Association. Marking this, and many other achievements, including being environmentally conscious before it was popular to be “green,” Thermal Industries’ desire to “give back” to Pittsburgh and surrounding communities has precipitated the announcement of a gift of replacement windows to Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh.
