The Dynamite Mountain Ranch Development in Phoenix, Arizona will feature high-performance, safety-driven Pinnacle Rubber Mulch at a neighborhood playground installed in conjunction with Pulte Homes, Exerplay Inc., and Valley Crest Landscape Development.
Manufactured by LTR Products, a subsidiary of Pittsburgh-based Liberty Tire Recycling, Pinnacle Rubber Mulch comes from recycled scrap tires, making it an innovative and eco-friendly alternative to wood mulch for landscaping and playgrounds.
"For the Dynamite Mountain Ranch Development, we were able to provide our tan color, which will help maintain a lower surface temperature because the sun in the Southwest can cause other playground surfacing materials to become too hot for children," said Brad Pittam, general manager of LTR Products. "Also, the developer was looking for a viable alternative to traditional wood mulch, which has a tendency to settle over time and shift in the wind."
