PureSpectrum (OTCBB: PSRU) will exhibit its full product line of dimmable Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL), dimmable ballasts for linear fluorescent lighting and dimmable linear fluorescent fixtures next week at BuildingsNY/GreenBuildingsNY 2010 in Manhattan.
In December, as a part of New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s PlaNYC initiative aimed at reducing the city’s total carbon footprint by 30 percent by 2030, New York City’s city council passed groundbreaking legislation known as the “Greener, Greater Buildings Plan” that requires existing commercial buildings to make sweeping changes to increase energy efficiency. The Bloomberg administration also announced in May that nearly 3,000 municipal properties have been benchmarked to receive funding that will ensure that every city-owned property measuring at least 10,000 square feet will meet the strict energy efficiency requirements outlined in the “Greener, Greater Buildings Plan.”
Lighting is a primary concern in the energy reduction effort, and PureSpectrum has multiple ongoing pilot programs using the company’s step dimming ballasts and fixtures in existing New York commercial properties. PureSpectrum’s step dimming ballasts are a cost-effective alternative for commercial buildings seeking to retrofit existing fixtures to realize significant energy efficiency gains, and the company’s step dimming T8 fixtures coupled with motion or occupancy sensors provides a rapid path to substantial energy savings by replacing existing lighting.

BuildingsNY/GreenBuildingsNY is a two-day show that attracts more than 6,000 attendees, including buyers from architectural products and services, new construction, renovation and restoration, building supplies and services, environmental interests and energy management and utility companies. In addition to exhibiting its products during BuildingsNY, PureSpectrum will be participating in GreenBuildingsNY, a show within the show designed to educate building and design professionals on the latest green products, services and regulations. Buyers will be able to source a broad range of green products and solutions for the retrofit, renovation, restoration and maintenance of existing commercial and residential buildings.
