PureSpectrum to Display Advanced Fluorescent Lights at 2010 BuildingsNY/GreenBuildingsNY

PureSpectrum (OTCBB: PSRU) will exhibit its full product line of dimmable Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL), dimmable ballasts for linear fluorescent lighting and dimmable linear fluorescent fixtures next week at BuildingsNY/GreenBuildingsNY 2010 in Manhattan.

In December, as a part of New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s PlaNYC initiative aimed at reducing the city’s total carbon footprint by 30 percent by 2030, New York City’s city council passed groundbreaking legislation known as the “Greener, Greater Buildings Plan” that requires existing commercial buildings to make sweeping changes to increase energy efficiency. The Bloomberg administration also announced in May that nearly 3,000 municipal properties have been benchmarked to receive funding that will ensure that every city-owned property measuring at least 10,000 square feet will meet the strict energy efficiency requirements outlined in the “Greener, Greater Buildings Plan.”

Lighting is a primary concern in the energy reduction effort, and PureSpectrum has multiple ongoing pilot programs using the company’s step dimming ballasts and fixtures in existing New York commercial properties. PureSpectrum’s step dimming ballasts are a cost-effective alternative for commercial buildings seeking to retrofit existing fixtures to realize significant energy efficiency gains, and the company’s step dimming T8 fixtures coupled with motion or occupancy sensors provides a rapid path to substantial energy savings by replacing existing lighting.

“Because of the high density of commercial properties and the urgent demand for increased energy efficiency in New York, the company identified New York as the first major test market to prove the energy efficiency gains our dimming products can provide,” said PureSpectrum president and CEO Lee Vanatta. “We will use this trade show to reinforce the successes we have already experienced with our commercial customers in New York and broaden our reach within this very active marketplace. We have a strong distributor relationship in New York, and given our successes we have developed a template which allows us to replicate this program for commercial customers in other major metropolitan markets going forward.”

BuildingsNY/GreenBuildingsNY is a two-day show that attracts more than 6,000 attendees, including buyers from architectural products and services, new construction, renovation and restoration, building supplies and services, environmental interests and energy management and utility companies. In addition to exhibiting its products during BuildingsNY, PureSpectrum will be participating in GreenBuildingsNY, a show within the show designed to educate building and design professionals on the latest green products, services and regulations. Buyers will be able to source a broad range of green products and solutions for the retrofit, renovation, restoration and maintenance of existing commercial and residential buildings.

“There is a universal demand for energy efficient lighting in New York’s commercial real estate market and we are exploring opportunities throughout the city with a leading distributor in the area,” said PureSpectrum program sales manager Nick Peragine, who is managing the company’s sales efforts in New York. “We have proven to our customers in New York that our products will provide the energy savings and the return on investment that they need in their lighting programs. We have received initial orders from these customers, and we are eager to introduce our products to more potential buyers in the New York area through a trade show designed to help facility managers and building owners in New York reach the goals established by Mayor Bloomberg and his plan for greener buildings.”
