The BREEAM Centre at BRE is holding courses to train delegates to become assessors for BREEAM Schools - the latest in BRE's portfolio of BREEAM schemes. The new scheme assists schools and LEAs in setting environmental targets for new and refurbished school buildings, and helps designers to demonstrate the environmental performance of their designs.
Those attending the training course will learn about the issues affecting sustainability, the technical content of BREEAM, and the assessment process. The course is interactive, with a mixture of seminars and workshops; which all count towards CPD requirements.
'Training to become a BREEAM assessor helps keep you at the leading edge of sustainable building design,' says Vivien Fairlamb of FaberMaunsell, 'and provides a valuable extra service to offer customers. For those interested in making a business out of environmental rating, or just wanting to understand a bit more about designing schools with a low environmental impact, this two-day BREEAM Schools training course provides all the necessary information.'
Courses are held at BRE, Watford, and where there is sufficient interest in-house training at a chosen location is offered. For further information, contact the BREEAM Office on 01923 664462.
