AECOM Technology Corporation (NYSE: ACM), a leading provider of professional technical and management support services for government and commercial clients around the world, announced today that it has been designated for a US$10-million construction engineering and inspection contract from the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT).
Under the contract, AECOM will provide construction-inspection services for the Route 3 Passaic River Bridge, a new, fixed span that will replace the existing, movable crossing between Passaic and Bergen counties. The existing crossing requires frequent repairs and was not designed to support current or anticipated highway traffic levels.
“We are proud to be selected for this important roadway project, which will enhance the availability of adequate transportation infrastructure in this densely populated portion of the state,” said John M. Dionisio, AECOM president and chief executive officer. “The new bridge will improve the quality of life for the residents and commuters in the area.”
The contract is part of NJDOT’s US$130-million Route 3 Passaic River Bridge replacement program, which is expected to be completed during 2014.
