Architecture Firm MulvannyG2 Chosen to Attend Clean Energy Trade Mission in China

MulvannyG2 Architecture was selected as the only architecture firm to join U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke on the Clean Energy trade mission to China this month.

The goal is promote exports of leading U.S. technologies related to clean energy and energy efficiency.

Only 24 companies were selected to attend the mission. MulvannyG2's President, Ming Zhang, will exchange ideas on sustainable building design with Chinese government and business leaders. The goal is to spur China's efforts to "leapfrog" over the U.S.'s historical progression of sustainable development in the past decade. Likewise, Zhang hopes to learn more about China's own progress in sustainable initiatives and markets.

"Buildings account for a remarkable 40% of all global energy consumption, and their carbon footprint exceeds that of cars. Helping China learn about specific sustainable design strategies and their benefits can significantly reduce its global environmental impact," Zhang said.

"The U.S. now understands that sustainable buildings are more profitable and provide more value over a building's lifespan. I'm here to share with business and government leaders how they too can benefit financially and environmentally from sustainable design and development," Zhang added.
