Building construction and structural engineering projects worth more than EUR 210 million on three continents - Group profits from its broad positioning.
HOCHTIEF subsidiaries have secured a large number of new contracts in Europe, America and Australia. The projects are from a varied spectrum of market segments - including hydro construction, road building, sports facilities and industrial properties - and have a combined total value of more than EUR 210 million. "Our pipeline to the market is functioning," underlines Dr. Herbert Lütkestratkötter, Chairman of the Executive Board of HOCHTIEF. The Group, he says, regularly wins new contracts now despite the economic crisis because it does not limit its business activities to individual regions or segments. "Our growth comes from all areas. We have an eye on market developments worldwide and react actively to upcoming opportunities," Lütkestratkötter says.
HOCHTIEF Polska, for example, will build a 42-story residential tower complete with an underground garage for 300 cars in Warsaw. The company was also commissioned to construct a logistics center comprising 21,000 square meters of space near the Polish capital. HOCHTIEF‘s US subsidiary Flatiron will replace a steel truss bridge and 20 existing timber bridge spans with concrete structures. The company will also carry out repair work on Highway 198 in California and is to construct additions to a wastewater treatment plant in Utah. Turner, the No. 1 for sports facilities construction in the USA, will renovate and expand the PGE Park in Portland, Oregon. The stadium for the Portland Timbers MLS team will be given a training and rehabilitation facility, roofed grandstands and a FIFA-conforming playing field.
