Noble Environmental Power (Noble) has selected RMT, Inc. (RMT) for engineering and construction of its Granite Reliable Power Windpark located in Coos County, New Hampshire. Once completed, the 99-megawatt facility will be the largest windpark in New Hampshire. Construction is expected to commence in summer 2010.
Walter Howard, Noble Environmental Power CEO, said, "We chose RMT because they have a proven track record of completing projects on time and on budget, while maintaining an industry-leading safety record."
RMT will be providing engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) to support the installation of 33 Vestas V90 3.0-MW wind turbines. The civil infrastructure will include roads, crane walks and pads, and turbine foundations.
RMT will also design and construct the electrical infrastructure, including a 34.5-kV overhead and underground collection system and a 5.8-mile 115-kV overhead power line. RMT is also responsible for tower erection and construction of a 5,000 SF operations and maintenance building.
"We are pleased to work with Noble on this state-of-the art facility, which will bring clean energy and economic benefits to New Hampshire," explained Frank Greb, RMT General Manager and Vice President. "We are working closely with Noble to maximize the use of local construction materials and to tap into the area's labor pool."
The Granite Reliable Power Windpark will deliver many environmental and economic benefits, including clean renewable energy, numerous construction and long-term operations jobs, increased business for local vendors and service providers, and significant tax contributions at the town, county, and state levels.
