Lumenergi, the leading provider of energy-efficient, networked lighting systems, announced today that it will install advanced lighting control systems and smooth dimming ballasts this month in the Texas E.O. Thompson State Office Building, located at 920 Colorado St. in Austin.

Lumenergi will be collaborating with two local firms, Spawglass and Essential Energy, and expects its intelligent system to reduce the building’s lighting energy costs by over 60 percent.
The E.O. Thompson building is owned and operated by the Texas Facilities Commission (TFC), which is responsible for over 24.3 million square feet of leased and owned space in government properties across the state of Texas. The building is being retrofitted with Lumenergi technology as part of TFC’s initiative to increase energy efficiency and cost savings while reducing the green house gas emissions of public sector buildings and other statewide facilities.

This announcement marks the latest project for which Lumenergi has been chosen to provide smart lighting technology for retrofits of public buildings. Earlier this year Lumenergi provided lighting solutions for energy-efficient retrofits for Philip Burton Federal Building and U.S. Court House and Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building and U.S. Court House in California’s San Francisco Bay Area.
Federal and State governments are leading proponents of energy-efficient, intelligent buildings, representing the largest market sector for advanced lighting controls. Lumenergi’s strategic focus has resulted in growing successes in the sector, in addition to the company’s expanding commercial portfolio.
