Using a level in poor lighting is a big, frequent hassle. Levelling against a dark background makes it worse. Now pros and serious DIYers can use Swanson’s Professional Lightning Level™, a top-quality, box-beam level that takes the category to a higher, and much brighter, level.
The Lightening Level joins US-based Swanson’s renowned line of layout and leveling tools. Since 1925, Swanson tools have helped builders and remodelers get jobs done fast, precisely accurate and with ease. It started with the world-famous Swanson Speed® Square, the layout tool owned by every person who builds anything.
Lightening Levels have three lighted vials, so measurements are easy to read in the lowest light, even in darkness. Acrylic block vials are lit by LEDs that will last a lifetime. Vials have three-ring center lines for easy pitch calculations.
If you leave it on, or it gets turned on accidentally, the Lightning Level’s patent-pending auto shutoff turns it off after 10 minutes. It has worldclass accuracy of .0005 inch per foot and requires just two triple-A batteries (included) that fit safely inside a chamber. One button illuminates all vials or turns them off. Super Shock™ end caps absorb five times more shock. Built like a brick, it weighs only 1.3 to 2.7 pounds.
Lightning Levels have large, cushioned hand grips, a V-groove on one side for pipes, and a channel-groove on the other for square corners. The center vial can be seen from the front and top. Magnetic levels feature Swanson’s patent-pending IMS with extra-strong, rare-earth, neodymium magnets.
There are four Lightening Level models – 24-inch and 48-inch, both available with or without magnetic edges. 24-inch Lightening Levels are $45 for non-magnetic and $55 for magnetic. 48-inch models are $65 and $75.
Available from leading retailers including Lowe’s, Sears, Ace Hardware, Do it Best, True Value, Amazon.com and others.
