FABULOUS FLOORS magazine's new website launched today gives designers, consumers, architects, builders and fashion-conscious members of the industry access to the latest flooring styles and interior decor concepts simply by logging onto http://www.fabulousfloorsmagazine.com .
Says Publisher Sonna Calandrino, "Like the magazine, our website is a very different experience. Every visitor comes away with useful information and resources."
"First, we post recent articles such as "Ceramic Tile As You've Never Experienced It," an award winning apartment off Harvard Square "City Slic (As In Chic) In Boston," visiting the hit TV series "In The Footsteps of TV's The Real World," and "How Children's Author Beatrix Potter Helped Weave A New Story Line In Wool Floor Fashion."
"Second, as the Web gains importance as part of the advertising mix, and recognizing how consumers want both print and on-line information access, FABULOUS FLOORS developed its site to accommodate both needs."
With each new issue, key features from the most recent past edition are posted, along with a complete list of advertisers. Clicking on advertisers' names brings up a PDF of their most recent ad.
"Advertisers get another 90 days of visibility beyond the magazine's quarterly, international on-sale period, and consumers, designers, architects and trade pros get quick-click access to brands which perceive flooring as they do -- as fashion elements."
Until recently, the magazine was a virtual newsstand-only publication. Requests for subscriptions from designers, homeowners and, interestingly enough, flooring retailers convinced Calandrino that FABULOUS FLOORS needed to streamline subscriptions as it expanded newsstand distribution, as reflected by the secure transaction page for new subscribers.
"Reaching key staffers also is important," she said. "The 'contact us' page takes visitors right to the person they want to reach, whether for advertising, subscribing or proposing a story idea."
New sections are being tested, including advertising media kits, news about the magazine, staff and special industry events and links to industry partners like Sonna & Company which offers advertising, merchandising, training and branding support for the flooring industry.
